Legendary performance artist Marina Abramovic and NEON present “As One”, a six-week programme of cutting-edge performance art and educational events at the Benaki Museum in Athens.

Founded by acclaimed performance artist Marina Abramovic, the Marina Abramovic Institute (MAI) is a Hudson, New York-based foundation that promotes and presents performance art with a focus on long-durational performances. In collaboration with Greek art foundation NEON, MAI presents “As One”, a six-week programme of performances and events that take place at the Pireos Street Annexe of the Benaki Museum in Athens. Spanning across the entire museum building, which is open daily at special opening hours just for the occasion, the exhibition comprises two big sections: on the upper floor, specially commissioned long-durational performance works by 27 young Greek artists that have been selected by Abramovic and her team are on display for 8 hours daily, while on the ground floor a comprehensive programme of The Abramovic Method, which is a series of exercises that nurture self-awareness and concentration.

The already ambitious programme complements a whole host of screenings, talks, workshops and performances; visit the Benaki Museum website for the full schedule and certainly don’t miss the closing celebration on the 24th of April!
